THE WAR

The War

By Kylie Haese

The soldiers came today,

And took my daddy away

They checked our house for anything to take

Left not even an oven to bake

Daddy had to have a gun

He said “they’re very bad son

Never use them

Or you will sin.”

There was a letter

Mum said Daddy’s in a shelter

Daddy’s dead

He got hit in the head

We’re okay. I know its sad

But we’ll get through it even if its bad

We just have to remember

The war’s nearly over.

I wrote this poem when I was a child,
I am interested to hear what you all
think of it :)
